Kate Carleton has over 20 years experience as a business and executive coach, specializing in leadership and communication. She has successfully coached hundreds of professionals to become more effective leaders, increase productivity, and to speak with greater impact. Clients include professionals from Microsoft, Fidelity Investments, State Street Research, Merrill Lynch, Mass General Hospital, IBM, Genzyme, Wyeth, and Pearson Learning Group, as well as lawyers, engineers, architects, and entrepreneurs.

Kate utilizes her fifteen years of acting experience and NLP training to coach business professionals to develop their corporate presence, eliminate “Death by PowerPoint”, and to deliver powerful speeches, whether to the media or a group of industry professionals. A recent client from Mass General Hospital received the White House Award for delivering a powerful multi-media presentation for the Homeland Security Defense Conference on his 9/11 experiences.

As a Senior Consultant and Career Coach with Lee Hecht Harrison, a global career management firm, Kate has coached over 2,000 professionals to develop a strong marketing strategy, to interview with confidence, and create a powerful resume. Kate used video feedback to enable clients to understand their presentation and communication style while coaching them on body language and voice.

Ms. Carleton holds degrees in psychology and education with the University of Denver, and received her coach training with Corporate Coach University International, Harvard University Executive Education, and the Coaches Training Institute. She was President of the International Coach Federation of New England, served on the Board for 3 years, and currently is on the Apprenticeship Task Force for Citizen Schools of Boston. Kate lived in Spain and Latin America, and is fluent in Spanish.

Recent speaking engagements include: Genzyme Latin American Symposium, Boston College Carroll School of Management, Suffolk University School of Law, Project Management Institute Annual Conference, Legal Marketing Association Annual Conference, Women’s Bar Association Leadership Retreat, American Society of Engineers, Boston Society of Architects, and the Success in the 21st Century Conference in Los Angeles. She has also worked with students at Harvard University School of Public Policy, Tufts University Entrepreneurial Leadership Program, and Babson College School of Management.

In addition to her work as a coach, trainer and speaker, Kate Carleton is an accomplished artist, working in oils on canvas and board. Her work can be seen at Newton Open Studios and her oil paintings are represented by The Hastings Collection of Martha’s Vineyard, MA and Sarasota, FL, where some of her beach dune series of 100 paintings are in their online gallery.
